Speaking of billable hours, the craziest job I had was working in a law firm, as a clerk. The hours can get crazy, especially coming up on trial. We were basically shanghaied, and I think one paralegal was only half-kidding when she said, "We have no time for personal hygiene". No sleep, either.
But the politics. got crazy. I mean, there was a woman there who joined our work group, and suddenly, our fairly functional group turned into a nightmare of "Survivor" (her favorite show). proportions. I was the one she decided to try and vote off the island for no apparent. reason. That sucked because it's not a game show, that job was my livelihood. It got ugly, for sure.
