Original, May - I have thought about that but I'm not sure which paper to target. The club my son plays for is not in the same area as we live in and different papers cover each area. Thanks for your thoughts, I'm sure I will work it out one day!

Original_Influence has a good idea there you know. Writing basketball reports could be a way into other writing gigs and you know the topic and you have to go to matches in any case.

I had a thought...maybe you should write a piece about the games for your
local paper and give it a wider slant....as a freelancer. You have written about so many over the year that I think you would write a nice piece!
