- Go to Through The Eyes of a Child...Joy To The World...With Wonder and Amazement

Thanks for the kind words...and the hugs...(sending hugs back at ya!). While I'm aware of the concept of "when I was a child, I did childish things, when I became an adult, I put away childish things..."...I've always felt that there are some things children do & have that is desirable to keep in my adult vocabulary and behavior. Keeping the wonder & awe of the Christmas season is one of those things. May the joys of the season be yours & your family's now & throughout the coming new year.

Thank you for visiting & for your comments. You're right...Christmas is for children...and the logistics of a family gathering (for any reason) certainly can be trying at best! Sometimes I think it's easier to have a celebration for the kids (with all the trimmings), and then have a small, quiet personal celebration for me & my husband.

Wonderful writing and Insight!!!
I loved that!!!! Thru the eyes of a child is such a wonderful concept! I too love seeing their excitement as we approach the holiday! Let us remember to teach them that JESUS IS THE REASON FOR THE SEASON!!! Not just gifts. We are all so blessed if we take the time to observe the small things, like you are doing! Bless you and pass on your spirit!!! Hugs, faith4u

when I had small children,
and my wife and I lay in bed waiting for their little footsteps pounding down the stairs to see what might be under the tree, that was the best of times. Christmas hasn't mattered as much to me since. Now it's a hassle of logistics: who goes to who's house? Who is responsible for being the leader? Can we really adhere to an agreement we made to choose one relative by lottery, and buy or make a gift only for that relative? Which places would the children/grandchildren rather go to? Why not just have a quick winter solstice celebration, and let it go at that? Christmas is for children.
