"You poor thing" is right!
Being in pain is hard and everyone deals with it differently...some better than others too!  Try not to take it personally right now...Hope things get better really soon!

They say doctors make the worst patients...I guess medics count, too.
He is probably the type that doesn't like to let you see him vulnerable.  My ex was like that.  He nearly cut his finger off with a table saw, and between his distaste for having to depend on people and his despise for vulnerability, the medication made him the biggest ASS.  The doctor even pulled me aside and told me before I went in his room that could be part of it.  He had really long hair, and they had to do skin grafts from his hip, and get skin cells from his toe.  So for weeks I had to help him with things, help him shower, dress and clean the wounds.  Eventually, he got better about it and we got closer.  He said he couldn't believe anyone would do that for him and deal with that.  It's a guy thing in a lot of ways.  I'm sorry he hurt your feelings.  Just remember that his role really is that of the provider, and this must be so odd for him.  Especially with that medic part of him.  Kick his ass later a little bit, when he's better.   I hope he feels better soon.  You, too.

Oh you poor thing!
I've been mistreated several times by family members in the hospital; once it was my teenage daughter who howled when I finally had enough of her attitude and made to leave (the nurses applauded my move) and a few times by a very grouchy hubby; in that case the nurses pleaded with me to stay because they didn't want to deal with him. It does hurt. Sorry you had to go through this, geez life rains it down hard sometimes huh? I'm sure your husband will regret his behavior later when he's clearheaded. (or maybe he won't remember) Hope he recuperates quickly and easily and things settle down. Take care.

Oh my,
and just when I was trying to get you to take a little vacation. Gee gallant one, you seem to get more than your share of tough tests.
