Tiel, thanks....

The good thing is that as a family, we rally round when things like this happen, so she won't feel like she going through this alone.

Good for you, Cass!

Lensman,

It works like that for me too. Don't read someone in a while and then they pop into my mind. I still have to come read the final chapter of that captivating story with the charming dog. I haven't been around much lately.

Rhia,
We are close, so I lend my ear and  pray that they do the right thing.

Telly, now that's a practical approach.
I don't supposed they'd even think of selling their home since they just moved into it. Didn't even know there was such a thing as watercolour pencils.

Word.Smith
Oh my gosh!  What a list of overwhelming problems.  It almost gave me anxiety reading about them and she's not even MY  cousin.  I have such pity for her and her nightmarish problems.  Compassion for you since you care and there's probably not a lot you can do for her except what you are already doing as best you can.  While you're thanking God for your blessings, I guess I don't have to tell you to pray that your cousin gets some also.

No help required here! I count my blessings daily and I have many to count.

I love that expression, "up for mention."  Good for you, being grateful for what you have.  It's always 10 times what someone else has.

You know, I get so caught up in my work, writing posts, living life, etc., and then one day I think...."Word.Smith."  What's up with her these days?   So here I am.  Nice to read you again, and I'm still envious of where you live.

Be supportive, Word

but don't let yourself be dragged down, okay?

My god. What a tsuris! (a mess) I think it would be time to cut your losses, sell the monster of a house, get things paid off and settled, and get the priorites straight. And selling dope on top of it? You have to wonder sometimes. RYN: Actually, the drawings are done with watercolour pencils (without the water) I just like the intense pigments.

That's it Silvermoon.
After a while, we tend to go back to moaning again.

Genius,
They have my sympathy and my prayers. It will be a rough road for them.

Thanks Bright.

I tell myself that I have more than enough for which I should be thankful.

After all that?  I have no trouble maintaining perspective at all.  I'll just keep my  mouth shut from now on.
...Well, for a little while, at least.

that certainly is some sobering perpective
especially the legal battles. If there's anything that will suck the life out of you, it's taking care of legal issues.

I can't imagine being in all that trouble all at one either.

TF, you always put an interesting spin on things.
Yep, I'm feeling especially lucky and blessed right now.

Meringue,
What's bad about our legal system is that you can visit court for umpteenth number of times just to hear your case 'mentioned'.  It's a long and tedious process.

NewYorker,
Indeed there is a solution to everything, no matter how bleak things may seem. I agree that there nothing that kills you like feeling your situation can't be worked out.  It will take them a little time to sort through all they need to before each date comes up.

Thanks HG.
They need all the help they can get.

posted by word.smith on December 2, 2005 at 4:57 AM | link to this | reply

Rhiannon, they are going to need a lot of everything!
It will be a hectic and worrisome season for them with all of that going on.

Well, you can't say that her life is boring. With all her troubles, she is making everyone else feel better/lucky.

Never been to court
but can imagine your cousin's plight!

posted by Meringue on December 1, 2005 at 9:32 PM | link to this | reply

as they say in Italian
Luck is blind, but bad luck has great eyesight! Hope your cousin doesn't get too overwhelmed by it all....there is a solution to everything, no matter how bleak things may seem - this coming from someone who learned at her own expense that if you think something can't be solved, you're doomed.

Good god, poor thing.  Having had some experience with legal matters the last year, I can't imagine dealing with several. I will be thinking happy thoughts for her.

I wish them luck
and hope you stay out of the fracas (fraci?) yourself.

Kat, I have her in my prayers.

It's the least I can do for her. Thanks...

That is terrible Word.Smith

I hope she soon gets a break somehow so she can relax, have the baby peacefully and enjoy her new child.

Thanks for the timely reminder.
