Fiona, I think I'm a little bit of a spendthrift myself,

but I definitely stay away from taking food on credit.  I don't like the thought of not being able to eat if I can't get it on credit.  As to the junk, sometimes I'm so cheap I wonder how I spend so much.

Telly, those charges and fees really do add up...
Smart move.

Rhiannon,
a little something to break the monotony. I'll be over to check on your girls soon.

HG, you've changed back!
I don't mind people taking credit, it just that they should pay up without me having to turn them upside down and shake the money out of them.

Credit is like a disease
Most people overspend and then find themselves having to buy food on credit 'cos otherwise they'd have no money. You've got the right idea. I bet you don't buy as much rubbish on impulse either.

It was so liberating to finally stop using credit, and staying with a pay-as-you-go system for myself. It put the brakes on spending and a lot of loss of money out of my pocket -- it was amazing to see how much charges and fees ate up of my disposable cash.

Sounds like the "s**t sandwich"
You do something you like, then something you really don't like, then something you like.  Blog, do billing, blog.  It's like a sandwich, with the you know what in between two delicious slices of bread.  Works for me.

I would be ashamed to admit some of the things and amounts I've paid for with credit!!

It's coming close to year end
and the end of our financial year, so I don't intend to have any outstanding payments.
