Hello! Does anyone think that the majority of people in the U.S, whether they claim to be conservative or liberal, is really that interested in the fact that Jesus came down to earth to save believing mankind?  The stores are not the victims of liberals.  They're commercial enterprises that operate in a capitalistic economy with the mission to make money.

The fact is that December 25th is not even Jesus birthdate.  Christmas is a "Christianized" Roman pagan commercial holiday.  At one time Christmas was not celebrated in the United States because of its pagan origin. Like most of the other holidays, it was the commercial system, not the religious leaders that brought these days to the fore in order to increase their profits.  Christmas ("Holiday" or whatever else it is called)  has always been about commericialism, not true religious expression that brings honor to Christ our Lord.

We live in a country where we have a great deal of religious freedom.  As long as you are free to go to your house of  worship, pray, make contributions, try to live by Christian principles, read the Bible, etc., what does it matter what the stores are calling what is basically drummed up religious holiday?   Stop fighting about political symantecs and get on with the business of doing things that reflect true worship!

Amen billy cargo -- and happy Christmas shopping to YOU!

Janes...I agree. I refuse to shop anywhere that caves in to silly PC

indulgence.  This isn't about religion its about having back bone to call a spade a spade and not make up words or expressions in an effort to please everyone.  People need to be offended, gets their blood flowing.

Corbin, I'm glad it was the manager you told and not the sales clerk.  Good going!  My mom sent them a letter explaining that she was now a former customer and that she would not shop with them until they changed their policies.  She got back a long letter justifying their stance . . . .

Didn't their profits drop a lot during 3rd quarter?  Hmmmm.  Perhaps actions such as yours and many others will help them get back on track.

Janes......

I just walked out of a Target store.....after telling the manage what I though of their policies and cut up my Card and gave it to him.....

I actually saw a sign above the Jewelry counter that said:

MERRY HOLIDAY!

Tapsel, Merry Christmas to you!

Mystic, I think you're jumping to conclusions just a WEE bit too much.  I don't give a rats ass about consumerism.  What I DO care about is Christmas and how it would seem that the ACLU and other whining cohorts are doing everything possible to remove the notion of Christmas from popular society.

Offbeats, that's a GREAT idea and one worthy of emulation!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Bud-Oracle, I'm not capable of understanding the true concepts of God?  Well now, what an egotistical, judgmental, pigheaded and contemptuous statement to make.

You, oh Oracle, have obviously been to the mountaintop and heard god speak to you in person, eh?  Perhaps as strapped to your bed in leathers in the locked down unit of some mental hospital?

Sorry, but I'm laughing at the arrogant audacity you portray in judging someone you have NO knowledge of!

to be so deluded that you can talk religious meaning in the post with that crowning picture of consumerism sparkling forth. You would not, in my opinion, be capable of understanding the true concept of God.

No one will ever be able to take Christmas away from this woman! As to the retailers who are trying, I am buying in antique stores and Mom and Pop stores this year!!

Are you advocating that businesses use Christmas to sell stuff????
Let me get this straight. If I don't conspicously consume, then I'm an atheist?????

Lord help me! I hate to shop!

The real battle is at the retail level...

Politician respond much faster to e-mail, calle, etc.   But retailer need to be hit in the pocketbook......

Tammy Bruce brought us this one from a listener, check this out at Lowes:

At Lowe's, where only the Spanish speaking get a Merry Christmas
