What you are saying is true. Many of us are way ahead of ourselves, of where we truly are on the path. Although enthusiasm, optimism and vision are necessary for spiritual growth, so also is a healthy dose of pragmatism.
I know for myself, I used to practise TM, reiki and all kinds of stuff. But one day I realized that I was living in my head at the expense of the rest of my body. It became clear that the path for me was to learn how to live with complete presence in my body, in my everyday life. Meditation, to this day, hasn't felt appropriate again. I turned into your "chop wood carry water" seeker and loving the many possibilities of, what I think of as, a "sober spirituality".
As you said, just learning how to be reasonable in our relationships is a big enough task for us at the moment. I believe its only possible to love ourselves for being spiritual when we have learned to love ourselves for being human.

Good points. I realize that I have enough on my plate, as you said! I've been working hard on the boys and the family, and opening lines of communication. You helped me get the ball rolling in the right direction. Thanks.

You are correct that we are all working on our personal ascension. We are individually responsible for raising our body's own vibration thereby increasing our inner light. By increasing our own inner light we are increasing the Light on the planet. That is our main purpose as Lightworkers. We are trying to perfect ourselves. However, by assisting others in their healing we are healing ourselves and the planet.

This is such a fascinating topic to me. I really related to what Rcky had to say and now what you are saying. I always feel such a strong connection with the world and occasionally the feeling is so strong it is almost surreal and it happens at such odd times, like being stuck in traffic. I constantly feel the pull to reach out to people, not to cure but to help them find peace in whatever is going on at the moment. It's strange to me that relgion was never a part of my life.
