I don't have a partner and I still sleep on the couch at times. Of course those are the times I just can't be bothered going to bed...

Okay, Joe Love...What kind of undies does The Monster wear???
And why were you sacked out on the couch. You should have made him sleep on the couch for not getting your fliratious signals, darn it.  Chicken salad sounds delish..

Hehe
It's somehow nice to know that men don't ignore us just because we are female...they ignore us because we're just a fixture like the couch or the toilet.  This is how I used to feel during college football season. He has mellowed with age though...

How ungratifying!!!
I am so sorry that he cannot "take the bait," so to speak.  How frustrating for you!!!  Sexual frustration, anyone...?  ;)  ~LB~ xo

I reckon that this much effort has not been made in taking over small nations, or launching big corporations from nothing

Men, yeah...
we're really knotheads like that (just ask my wife).

sounds like the monster's not worried
about the possibility that you'll pimp yourself out for $50 or that you'll display your slutty undergarments to any unsuitable person... Sounds like you've encountered a trusting soul and the idea of infidelity has never entered his head. You're going to have to take it up a notch -- buy him something outrageous. :)

Perhaps the content of your post will ruffle some feathers, don't you think so? Cheers

Monster wasn't paying any attention, that just is not nice at all! If you have been on that couch for a month now, I bet he learns to pay better attention! Those boxers sound cute, maybe I should look them up and buy myself a pair huh???

Joe,
I think you're wasted on that Monster! He's like all guys, not very observant and sometimes rude. If you ever happen to be in Belgium, come and visit us: our house is only dominated by women (and no, we're not lesbian, just don't need a guy around the house - only to help us cut the branches of the trees, or other such chores, brute man power sometimes comes in handy...)  But I guess we'd laugh a lot !!! We surely would notice your underwear and comment on it... You remember me of a friend I once had in Germany, he was called Fred, and we often pretended to be married. Lots of fun!

Good writing again. I must ask you if you've encountered spirit activity in that house of yours. It seems as though old farmhouses are frequent haunts.

Joe, do you think he's just PRETENDING not to notice?
I mean, how could he miss THAT?  Maybe he's got something up his sleeve ...

Somehow it's even the case with me that I do not have the eye for noticing

detail if it's not the kind of detail that interests me.

Yikes!
I think I'm guilty! My beloved is constantly asking me things like, "What's different about me today?"

And I have to tell her whatever comes into my head, somehow failing to see that she's shaved her head bald, or is wearing bright red cat eye contacts, or is dressed in a great big purple Godzilla outfit.

And when I was a kid I wanted to be a detective...

Another great post, Joe!

tsk!  typical.  The Monster should be out on the couch, not you!  Take those Big Dog shorts of yours and lay them on his pillow, under the blanket.  See what happens then.

that's a bit of a problem men have,
They're so unobservant. Next time, don't be so subtle. (I know - the plan was simple and should have worked.) Go and tell the monster to read your shorts.

Argh, Men!!

I once paraded around the house clad only in a see through nightie-naughty for an entire week-end. The most attention I got was: "Hey Cutie, how 'bout bringing me another beer?" That dude is so gone, Lol!

Great post Joe Love. Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

The Monster Is Such A MAN

that he has lost all sympathy from me.  Don't feel bad he could have refused to go to the "adult" store with you because it was HUNTING SEASON!!!  NO, I haven't let that one go even two years later.

Don't feel bad, Bud, it happens in ALL relationships. I've been in the dog house so frequently lately, I can't even keep straight the reasons. It's a blur. Good luck, maybe the Monster will notice them eventually.
