His statement is correct by U.S. grammatical standards.

Then again, as you remind us, it was the U.K. what invented the language. (See how I used "what" instead of "that"? Or is that not proper in the U.K., just colloquial? LOL)

The important thing is that some sort of exposure of this atrocity broke past the lines of White House-Pentagon secrecy and spin. The fraction of Americans who don't know or believe this story is probably about the same as the (large) portion who believe that the sun revolves around the earth.
