Yeah, it wouldn't affect my faith or beliefs either. But it would be cool if we found some living "hobbits". We'd be looking back at the past living in the present.

It would do nothing to my faith. It doesn't matter to me whether we evolved or whether we just popped into being with souls and full mental capacity. I still believe God created us and whether He chose to form us through evolution or not is irrevelant with respect to my faith. Even if there is still a subhuman race, which is I believe how you put it, it would still not shake my faith. Whatever God has chosen to do with whatever of His creatures He created is fine with me. It is, after all, His decision.
Great questions, though. Your posts always make one think and I like that.
