Joe, actually the next day I got on the internet and found out the email address for the Director of the Club. I then emailed him to let him know about the excellent customer service his staff provided.

Blanche - its ok! I'm glad you had somewhere to vent! It must be extremely difficult to deal with some customers and still stay polite. I hope your boyfriend has good days too.

I hope you consider writing a letter
to the ticket office and telling them how you feel about their service. Better yet, call them and find out where a letter sent would most benefit the people whom helped you (i.e their boss's address).

Ca88andra,
It's sad to see the opposite to good customer service: rudeness, coldness and indifference. And not by the employee of a business towards a customer, but by a customer towards an employee. My boyfriend is a furniture salesman for a fairly high-end furniture store. He recently changed jobs from one store of the same company to another in a new, high-traffic mall. He's overwhelmed and inundated by people who are there simply to pass the time, gawk, visit with friends, anything other than buy furniture.
Yet some of them feel it necessary to be rude, and to take offense at the standard greeting of "Hi, how can I help you?" (A greeting he refuses to use, since it leads to nothing more than a standard, "Oh, fine, just looking." as rote and meaningless as it is untrue.
Yesterday, he was upset to read an article in the local Sunday paper about shoppers taking offense at the clerks who are "pushy", merrely for doing there jobs: that is, greeting customers and then following up to see if they need anything. One woman was quoted as saying that a customer had replied to her greeting, "Shut up, I'm just looking." If Michael had gotten such a rude response, he would have kicked them out of the store! I'm venting here, because he went to work with a more wary attitude becasuse a whole article is justifying the shpper. (I'll stop, this is becoming too long, and probably a whole post in itself. ). Sorry, Ca88 .

My oldest stepson would love your blog...
He's also an accomplished (and aspiring) b-ball player. Well--he'd enjoy it, that is--if he'd actually sit down and READ something, lol!
Good post! It's nice to read about GOOD customer service, which seems to be a rarity these days!

Ca88andra,
You and basketball. Every time, almost every time I read one of your posts I get this vision of a packed stadium, sneakers squeaking on a basketball court floor and the roar of the crowd. I'm glad they took care of you. They're smart. You probably would never have come back and then all of us bloggers never would have "gone" either.

Sometimes they really do get it right, don't they!! Kudos to them. Maybe you should write them a short note of thanks for their excellent service.

Customer service people
are the custodians of the brand. Unfortunately many of them don't realise this or don't care. Good for them and pleased you were able to see the game.

amazing story...
especially since it was a sellout crowd and they didn't have to be nice to you in order to cover expenses... Says something really good about Australians... Also it probably helped that you didn't rant and rave, but remained polite and patient -- imagine that's a stepaside from usual fan behavior, too. :)pat

My Dad is amazing with customer service in his business.
Taught me the customer is always right. Now, I have these high expectations and no one lives up to them in the customer service world! But, it made me really good when I had to be on the service end. That info you need from Spitfire? Just send what you discussed to the same email address you have, the one you wrote her at tonight. It's set up with that one. I think she meant to email you, but I don't know if she did and we were gabbing all night! Hope you are well.

Ca88andra, that's a nice story. Hard to find people who want to be nice
these days, especially in public service. I'm glad you got to get in and see the game. Hope they won!

It is so nice when people attend to their duties and can be pleasant about it. What a lovely story, especially inview of our recent news casts in Australia.
