I agree with you about the need to fill the world with love and compassion. I am simply saying that a HUGE part of that love and compassion is acknowledging that there really IS a "distant drum" as you so poetically put it. Failing to acknowledge this (what I would call a "call" or a "knock at your heart's door")is tantamount to refusing to accept a free gift of love that God has made available. If I were to do that it is also a slight bit more than a smack in the face of the giver--which is not a very loving attitude. So you tell me whether the truth is something you can handle or not. Especiallys since I am saying the truth involves acknowledging God's love has been made manifest through the personal life, work and gifts of Christ Jesus.

What is the truth? In which belief system does truth lie ; in your Christianity, or in my atheism?

We are all, believers in the religions and non-believers alike, on a journey to none may know where, and I believe that it is better to fill this  world with love and compassion and respect for one's fellow humans, than to hanker after a world beyond this.

" ... Oh! The brave music of a distant drum!"
