Masky,

I know that it helps keep me writing. I never would have come up with the stories in that blog, were it not for this idea that  Johnmcnab and Ainsley_Jo came up with.  Part of the idea is to try to get writing so that we try to get our entries submitted to publications out there. I haven't done anything with my entries so far, though I keep meaning to. MerryAnne submitted one of hers.  I hope she gets it published.

Word.smith...and I love it!
I'm not going to write a second story for the contest.  I was going to do a non-fiction piece, but I don't feel excited enough to come up with anything.  We've got a great group of writers who have entered so far.  The contest is a very good idea!

Masky,
I'm as shameless as they come.

That's cool, Malcolm
Thanks!

Thanks Telly,
I know if I want to tell a secret, I can post it in my fiction blog.  It'll be safe. Hardly anybody reads fiction.

I'll try and read it over the weekend if that's OK?

I will do my very best to get over there tomorrow, and read it. I promise. I'm just up too late right now to do it properly. And you know I will read anything of yours as long as you send me a link.

Incidentally I read your write-offering blog before I read this one.

Rhiannon, thanks.....
The drill part is not fun, but there's nothing for it but to keep drilling.

Bright,
I'm sorry I made you feel bad. This post was meant to be facetious. Take your time. It'll still be there and boy oh boy, do I know about their being scads of stuff to read around here. I made a decision to cut back on the commenting for a while. I can read in the early morning and late at night, but that's it. For right now, I have to write. Thanks for stopping by.   Flowers Catch you later!

Word

Don't you dare!  It may take me a while to comment, but I think you have great potential as a writer, and you (like we all do) need to drill, drill, and drill.  Stephen Barnes, a SF writer, told me that all writing is a drill, and you know when you get it right when people starte paying you for it.

You managed to make me feel bad.  You know that I enjoy your writing and I would not intentioally not read. Word, there are just a overwhealming amt. of posts and I am always trying to catch up. I just recently discovered that some blogers have more than one post. If I don't read your post tonight then I will be sure to get there in the morning. I hope you understand!

I agree with that Meringue....
If it's more than a couple of pages, it takes too long....

posted by word.smith on November 9, 2005 at 1:10 PM | link to this | reply

hey , just woke up and couldnt
go back to sleep....guess one of the reasons no one reads fiction is that it means it will take up a lot of time.....as against a post, which is short, easy to grasp and comment on.....! will read this one and let you know.

posted by Meringue on November 9, 2005 at 1:08 PM | link to this | reply

Okay,

The solution I've found is to use other means for having fiction critiqued. Still, it's frustrating to put something up and have not even a mosquito buzz by in 2 days.

Both. Some time ago, I was thinking about leaving blogit, for the same reason that you're fed up. But I got a lot of support, so I stayed. The other time could just have been a goodbye 'cos I was leaving at  night.

Gosh, didn't realize you are so far ahead.
I'm not sure I read right a few days ago in someone else's comment section, are you leaving Blogit or were you just leaving for the night?  Thanks for taking the time, Ariel.

I shan't be in her for much longer tonight, but I'll read some of your fiction tomorrow and let you know what I think
