Thanks Quirky. It's sad to think about how many rude stares and nasty comments I've experienced along the way. The worst and most recent was having a store clerk mutter "Free Willy" as I walked by. I called the store later and complained.

It's probably a little of both. You are bound to be feeling different, and this does come across to others. As for those who only think someone is worthy of attention if they are skinny...well, sadly they do exist... but we can choose to ignore such small minded humans!
