Tapsel-T,
I don't know if I'm really strong or not. We all just do what we have to do.
Blessings to you and Pitiful.

songbirdshafer, You are very strong person. Even though I am a people nurse, I think it would throw me for a loop if Pitiful got so sick.

Straightforward,
I had to become less sensitive about critter care in order to be able to care for them properly. In a way, it's the same way a doctor or nurse has to become conditioned to what they have to do so they can do their jobs well.
Also, I have to stay calm, as much as possible, because my Mom freaks out about that kind of thing, so somebody has to stay in some degree of control. ...and it's not easy sometimes.

I can quite imagine about the seizures.
I can't bear to see these things. if i were in ur place, i'd have collapsed and had to have a doc come in to see me.

Jacenta,
Yeah, those seizures are terrifying. Seeing one happen, you really don't know if your pet will survive. Usually, they're very fast, last only a few minutes.
The dehydration is serious, but more manageable, especially with sub-fluid. It's ideal because you're not trying to get your animal to drink it. A seriously ill pet often vomits, so they may lose oral fluid.
I'm going to check out that aloe vera Ariel70 mentioned. Sounds really promising. Vitamin C is also very healing. The C is helping SunnyBunny FINALLY get over his respiratory problem. SunnyBunny is my handicapped kitten. I'll write about him soon.

Sometimes it's difficult to get cats to take it, so maybe it's best to put it in their water. If you care to trawl down thro' my blog, you'll find a piece called " The Silent Healer" which will tell you all about Aloe Vera.

Ariel70,
I have heard aloe vera is very healing, but that's one thing I've never tried. I'm going to check this out.
You say you put it in their food. Do they mind the taste? Sometimes I can get by adding supplements to my cats' food, and sometimes, they're on to me!
The dogs are a whole other story. They wolf down anything I add.

songbirdshafer,
I hope Ebony is feeling much better now. It is great the way you helped your pet. It must have been scary, with the seizures and dehydration.

Sorry about your cat. Animals are like our kids, aren't they?
We've got two cats and two dogs, and we've given them Aloe Vera ( in liquid form ) in their food for years, and we hardly ever have to take them to the vet.
If you log on to www.foreverlivingproducts.com you'll find a distributor in your area.
Good luck with your blog
