...unreal!

That's like saying tigers would be entirely safe if it wasn't for their teeth, claws and sheer physical strength!

Thanks for stopping in.

malcolm...

...thanks for your comment, but something about it made me suspect that you think I'm American.

God Forbid!!

No, I'm British, born and bred, originally from Northumberland and settled back there a few years back.

Rudeness isn't it as much as this big fear / isolation thing. I say hello to people on the street or in the parks, and I rarely get a grunt back; more usually, I get the startled-rabbit look from them, like they've completely forgotten how to interact and respond to friendly strangers. Sad, really.

Cheers!

Dave...

..no flies on me, ma son!

Yes, I feel a pnt is in the offing, too. Lake District? Yorkshire? Even Northumberland? Sometime, somehow.

Cheers!

Thanks for reading.

I last visited London in 1987 with my (then) husband. We both loved it. One day I hope to go back - no, one day I will go back!

Didn't you hear what a former esteemed Mayor Marion Barry
said about Washington D.C. He said that except for the murders, it's a very safe place. (Honest to God, he really said that, hard as it is to believe)

Hello Damon
Glad you're enjoying our capital city. Even more glad that you decided to walk today rather than taking the tube. As you say, it's the only way to observe the buildings and the history that marks London out. Sorry about the rudeness though; my wife and I often comment on both that and the ridiculous prices for things. Whenever we're in the US we feel shamed by our ability to get so many things right but so many things wrong. Enjoy the rest of your stay.

Hi Damon. Read this post earlier when it was only two minutes old. You're probably out in that pub by now. Enjoy thwackingem in Twickenham. If I was down in the smoke, I'd join you for a pint.
