You're absolutely correct. Blood sells, says the news industry addage, and if the news media wants to portray the war as a failure they will absoutely not report any good news at all.

One suspects that the examples that you quote are by no means all the improvements in the lives of ordinary Iraqis that have taken place.

But there, to the media, good news isn't life, it's death, and they only feed us death, doom and disaster.
