When we -- as a nation -- decide that soap operish drama is preferable to
giving a damn about our national security and the people responsible for it, then we will have truly entered the beginning of our last days as a truly great power. The mere fact that the American people cared more about whether or not Clinton got a hummer than whether or not Valerie Plame was fucked over by Rove and Libby and Novak and others is significant and telling. I was amazed when I saw recently that the investigation into finding the cause of the spot on Monica's dress costs us $60 million; to investigate the leak of a CIA's identity, $723,000. Something wrong with that picture. Thanks for the post.
