Oh Tapsel, those are phenomenal verses!

Thanks for reminding me of them!!!!!!!!!!!  And regarding coming to your house, when can I come???

Yes, I'm afraid I am very observant.  I tend to be more on the quiet side taking everything in and then when I do happen to fall into a deep conversation with someone, I tune in to that one person and am oblivious to all else.  It's a characteristic inherited from my mom that annoys the heck out of my dad. So what you would need to do is just get me into some intense conversation and I will be clueless as to my surroundings.  Works like a charm!

I hope your week is going well.  Thanks for stopping by.

JanesOpinion, Remind me not to invite you to my house.  You might see something that I don't want you to see.    Actually, there have been times .........      What I depend on is the mighty inner strength through God's Holy Spirit that he gives from his glorious and unlimited resources, spoken of by the Apostle Paul in Ephesians 3:16

Thanks Caleb,

and yes, works are important but they need to be accompanied by grace, eh?  It's perhaps OK to have the resume as long as we still stop to drink from the Source of living water.

An absolutely wonderful post
I am painfully aware people like the couple you mention who are busy, perhaps taking a little to much pride in their accomplishments, and perhaps feeling very competent.  But I sense no grace.  No sense they are responding to the leading of the Holy Spirit.  It is as if they're building a resume.  Salvation through works I guess.  No introspection.  They ask God to bless the plans they have made rather than asking God what His plans are so they can alter theirs to participate.

Janes
That is so good. I have that ability too, seeing the motivation or the hidden action. I believe anything we do or give that is not given or done from his bidding from inside is without value even to the receipients. Goods are one thing but they are of God only when the Love of Jesus accompanies the deeds. There is a lot of doing the 'me. me' thing. I believe a lot of it is we need more people to stand up and say like you have, to teach in their churches about this. Our church has been doing this for a few years and I can see a great difference. When the heart is extended rather than the pocketbook people receive Jesus in it. This man and woman, poor things, need the Lord's love in their relationship, their understanding and their behavior it appears. Bless you lady.
