I can relate to that Joe,

being pleased with oneself....And then I get ahead of myself and start doing too much again, which results in disaster.

Have you seen those people who can do like 10 things at one time!! I'm so envious of those people cause I'm lucky if I can do 2 things at once. I, like you, start misplacing stuff. But, the rare times that I do multi-task without screwing everything up, I feel sooooo pleased with myself.

Cass,

When I decide to do that, that's when the mistakes start happening...

Telly,
I hope you got your papers sorted out...

Actually I work better when I multitask. I get so bored just doing one thing that I have to slip in other bits as I go. Its weird, but works for me.

You're absolutely right. Multitasking is an evil, evil thing. I spent a good portion of last night trying to find paperwork, sheer hell as far as I am concerned.

Thank you Argus.
I need to remember that.

Libertine,
That's usually when I come to Blogit (after the screeching halt)  to chill out and start from scratch again.

I think we have similar work habits.  I always find my brain fried when I mult-task, and then I come to a screeching halt because I've not been able to get any of my tasks done satisfactorily.

Ginnie,
rJust as long as I don't start posting comments to the middle of my Word documents, I should be okay.

word?
As long as you can blog and work at the same time you've got the multi-tasking thing under control! ;) And LOL at Dave's comment!

Quirky, now that pretty much explains that!

Multi tasking sucks all right--the brain is not designed to do more than one thing at a time, hence the difficulty of walking and chewing gum at the same time...lol.

Tissie,
I'm like you, but I usually get mad at least one day a month and kill the piles.

MW,

Many of us like to spread the myth that we can lay our hands on just the right bit of paper on that teetering pile, but you've sait it well...that's such a lie.

My desk is always a mess
between military info, work info, etc..  I'd like to say its an organized mess but that would be such a lie.

god, i hate multitasking
It is without a doubt, the bane of my existence. I can never remember what I was doing two minutes ago when I switched tasks, and then I can't remember what I was trying to do on the second task, and then...where was I?
