I've said al along that this administration's
involvement with the Iraqi war makes Watergate look like pablum.    These are very dangerous people.

I never did hear anything definitive about who exactly was behind that fake Niger document. I guess I assumed it was something cooked up by Iraqi exiles trying to persuade the U.S. to go after Saddam.

I have heard credible allegations that Iraqi exiles used such a tactic in talking to American officials who were all too happy to take their claims as absolute truth.

But come to think of it, it's also plausible that American hawks were behind that forgery. And that would certainly explain the campaign against Wilson. Hmm...

Very deep and informative article

Thanks for posting it Damon. Keep an ear to the ground tomorrow - today I guess for you - news about Cheney being the original leaker is just now breaking. This investigation has went beyond aides and reporters it appears. The question though of course remains - will it really pull the cards down or just rearrange their stance...And most importantly, will it make any difference in sorting out the mess in Iraq?

At any rate, should be a very interesting week ahead.
