...a really nice way to celebrate!
Just talked to Paul, and he told me that he got up early to get a copy of the New York Times to see if there was any news about his play.
There wasn't.
I guess that no news is better than a pan--and we believe there will be reviews getting printed soon (hopefully, good ones).
He said that the first night of the week was very slow but that things had picked up some, though he isn't expecting a huge showing tonight.
He believes that the play will at least get enough audience to keep it running through when it's supposed to (December 3), though he's also prepared for it not to be.
I've not read this play, but I've read an earlier one called Harmon & Ruth, so I can vouch for his being a great playwright.
Besides, he couldn't have worked for CBS News for so long without having at least some talent--not to mention all of his other projects!
The talent is definitely there for the asking, so all he needs is for as many people as possible to know about his play.
If you live in the NYC area, know somebody who does, and/or are planning on traveling there, and you're into attending plays, you might give this one a whirl--and, if you like it, tell others!
