Great work, MiaElla.  I like something that makes me think and hunt for meanings.  I haven't seen Cavendish used in this way before so I am on a search.

lovely imagery. i like the addition of tabacco stained, and that the last thing we learn is that he's stone. very simple, very vivid. nice tone, nice word choice, flows well.
