Temple - hmmmm... well protecting myself is probably rather high on my list, so I will probably agree with you there. However, "ask and ye shall receive" is high on my list at the moment and my asking tends to be rather detailed. That's how I got my job, my unit and the first lot of funding for my son's education. I think I will stick with the method for now, especially as I'm not planning on starting any in depth relationships for a long time!

Except you leave yourself with such a limited field to choose from. Did you ever think that maybe you've made your list so weighty that the perfect guy can't be found, thus protecting you from getting hurt again? I think you should know what you want, but I think the most important criteria should be in a list that is smaller ... the dealbreakers....then you have negotiable qualities (say one being height). There are a lot of really good men who would treat you well that you could be overlooking by having such ideals that maybe no man could ever live up to. I remember that list!
