I've seen such abuse of the system. I remember when my ex needed to go on Medical assistance due to the fact that no one would insure him with a serious illness, the number of people leaving with food stamps in their new cars. Then once had a neighbor who used her partner as a babysitter, while being reimbursed by the state's welfare system. I also remember a low income housing unit built nearby that ended up with so many brand new luxury cars in the complex.
I've never understood exactly how this continues on, while there are many people ineligible for benefits that are truly in need of assistance. I'm sure if they audited the departments, that could add money back to the budget to truly help those in need. Instead, they're willing to continue allowing this. Great post. Thanks.
