Malcolm - Beautiful post !! ...not only about family, but your garden as well. It all sounds familiar. My yard is a treasure of native wild plants, trees and grasses. although no pond. I shall forever be grateful, however, that Lake Superior and beach provide the extension to this yard. I've identified more than 2 dozen wild plants thriving, including wild roses, cinqufoil, daisies, Lily of the Valley, Black-Eyed Susans, chives, tall graceful beach grasses, etc..,.
