you've got that right, blackcat. It is no sociological anomaly that the
poor live in the most dangerous places on earth... and in great multitudes.  However, natural disasters play no favorites, the rich of New Orleans got nailed right along with the poor, just as the rich in California are being burned out just like their poorer neighbors.  The overriding difference is in the aftermath and the resources accorded the rich over the poor, not to mention the fact that the more affluent can find ways to avoid natural disasters, whereas most poor people have to ride them out.

what's next?

Natural disasters have been getting scarier each year.  It's ironic though that they seem to keep hitting some of the poorest areas of the world.  New Orleans included...
