oh yes, one summer we traveled through Salt Lake
but made the mistake of it being Brigham Young Graduation. Wowser, was it crazy. We couldn't find a hotel.

Every year, well, I guess it's really the entire state, but Salt Lake especially is the hubub of our 24th of July celebration. July 24,1847 Brigham Young walked into the Salt Lake Valley and said "This is the place." (Seriously, it's documented!) It gets so big we forget that the rest of the nation is not out celebrating.

poetjpb...My tiny northern wilderness town thinks big when it comes to summer festivals designed to attract tourists. They show up, and the village economy improves.
