It has?   that seems hard to believe, fymystic, when you compare Texas with areas such as the Middle East or Rome or in fact any part of Europe.  Most interesting.

Scottish are pussies when it comes to conflict ....
according to a noted historian, the area that encompasses Texas has seen more warefare that any other part of the world.

Jacenta
Thank you Jacenta.  It is a beautiful country - but then every country is in its own magical way.

FactorFiction

Perhpas you'e right, FactorFiction.  I would have thought that a large city in the States, like Chicago or New York would have a higher murder rate than Scotland - after all, Scotland only has 5 million citizens.  I can't think of any Finnish movies either, but every film (in French) finishes with 'fin.'

I would love to visit Scotland.  Interesting Post.

Hmmm very odd. Maybe WHO got the news tapes mixed up with the
movie Braveheart?  And Finland?? I don't think of that as a bloodthirsty country.Hey, I can't even think of a movie...

Taps

Ach Taps.   At least the bodies would be Scots wearing the kilt.

Mac, I'd like to visit there--even if there are a lot of bodies lying in the heather.

I'll buy lots and lots of t-shirts with 'Canada' printed on them and go back and flaunt them.

ginnie
I don't think guns are as commonplace up her, ginnie.  I haven't seen the west coast yet -apart from flying over it- and I have only seen a smidgin of Ontario.  I should have moved here many years ago methinks, either that or I'd better live for a loooooong time to fit everything in

Well, get to it then,
you'll be needing fresh things, won't you.

Well Mac...
...the Highlands and the west coast of Canada are two of the most beautiful places I've ever seen. And I'm hoping that guns aren't quite as ubiquitous up yonder as they are here.

Bags packed?  I still haven't unpacked since I got here.

And here I was thinking that we had the highest murder rate.

Are your bags packed yet?

Your Dad has a shoebox full of knives??   He must be one sharp dude, or was that a pointless remark?

Very droll, MerryAnne.   I like it.  I'm surprised your name isn't Gill.

I'll happily pack my bags Mac!
6 months in Scotland; 6 months in Canada...sounds blissful to me!  Of course I'm living in a place where guns rule!

Of course I'm not all scotch - only about a fifth... ;-)
