Tapsel-T, coming from you I take that to heart. Thank you for the

compliment.   I really didn't expect for this to be the "deeper" feeling vibe I'm sorta getting,, lol....I am very surprised that folks, especially ones like you, saw fit to see past the dirty words and see the bigger picture.

Cheap-women ....

Ugly I am

Ugly I see

Ugly is what

Ugly can be

saw that on a bathroom wall one time.  Made sense.  But then again, so did this...

drip a drop

then squeeze it through

now this drip doesn't drop

it's a river raging through

See what kind of potty's we have in Mississippi?

Lensman - the way you describe what I was saying makes me sound so...
crabby...lol.  I would never get upset with you for telling me to have a nice day. It all depends on the person saying it.  Coming from you, I would probably feel a lot better about my day.  Coming from someone like Mark or Chris, I'd tell them to stuff it in that large elephant he scarred my comment section with.  And there is nothing wrong with wanting to fix up something we see as broken, or in need of attention.  I just don't think we should dismiss what someone feels about themselves because what we see may be different from what they see.  Take how they see themselves, and understand it a little better.  We may see a flower, and it may even be a flower.  but they may see and feel like one of those ragged out ugly ass weeds.  The last thing they need to hear is "Your crazy!"  lol... thank you for your comment, and Have a nice day!

Hey, Kiddo

I don't mind that you used me.  Thanks for using the velvet gloves there.  I've seen your boxing gloves....lol.

What you're saying about the objective and subjective perspectives (enough "tives" there?) of beauty or ugliness is kind of fascinating, probably because I haven't considered it so closely before.  Fact is, it makes sense, spelled out like that.  I don't think I'm a stranger to this idea, though; maybe that's why it makes sense to me.  I just haven't seen it put into words before, as you wrote them.  Yes, we should defer to a person's feelings about themselves.  Who's going to know better than they do?  I guess that's what makes it arrogant to do the opposite.  Some folks see something they think is broken, though, and they can't resist trying to fix it (to their own standards).   I guess if you see beauty in someone else, it's best to just enjoy it quietly -- unless they make it obvious they're willing to share in the idea.  But that's their call.

I once got hell for telling someone to cheer up here on Blogit.  I meant well, but then it was explained to me that it was as I was trying to force something onto them that wasn't there.  I guess that's kind of related to this topic in a way.

Hey, you're right, I like the "odd."  The definition of odd is:  "Deviating from what is ordinary, usual, or expected."  (in other words, boring)

However, unusual, unexpected and out of the ordinary are not boring.  Okay, you're odd.

You know where I always find beauty?

Gymnists.  The sculpted bodies, chiseled faces, perfect sense of grace and balance....

That's just magnificent.

How's the old saying go:
"Beauty is only skin deep; ugly goes right to the bone." And it does, especially if you feel that way.

Oh, and Toker...on days you may be feeling a bit blue...do

what I do to jump start the ol' esteem rig...next time you get out, take a gander at the creatures roaming this earth.  Nothing like someone else's ugly to make you feel better about maybe having a bad hair day.

Lensman - I suppose it is what we wake up to in the morning, how we

see our reflection.  I'm always amazed at the arrogance of some thinking that their opinion of what you look like is the one that should matter.  What I see on someone may be different than what you see, but does either of our thoughts matter if that person feels ugly on the inside?  (Im not fussing, I'm making a statement and using your sweet comment as a scapegoat!)  They always say, beauty is on the inside.  Does that mean only what you reflect onto others as it has come to mean?  You may be beautiful on the inside as to what you give to others, but the core of your inside weeps ugliness.  So no matter how much beauty you give and what others may see, ugly is all you are and ugly is all you see.

Sorry to use you...do you feel dirty?  Remember - you like the odd, right?  Aren't I a little odd?  lol..

Toker - it depends on what monstrosity you are giving the "beauty"
speech too....lol.  I always find someone damn near animal like to give a compliment to about their "beauty"....lol.

Hemlocker - I love that little song...I feel pretty! Oh so pretty...
The "Gremlin" in the title should have told you it wasn't going to be quite like the rest on here.  Not that I'm any different than anyone else.  We are all different in different areas.  I had to say all this to make the rest feel better about being so dead gum normal...LOL..JK.  Thanks for the comment, makes me feel pretty, oh so pretty....

Kiddo

Well, as you recently said to me on one of my comment pages:

"...when it's not a severe case, ugly can be warming if the heart is golden.  Again, not too severe...remember...that is an every morning gig.  Waking up to ugly every morning makes the inside beauty not so damn sweet anymore..."

And you're right, it also boils down to seeing ourselves in the morning, or whenever.  Hmmm....I'm going back for another look.   If you don't hear from me, send help....
