I'm not a Christian but when I first became ill with schizophrenia there was a lot of Christian imagery and ideas that I was drawn into. I can certainly see how many people can view acute psychosis as demon possession. It definitely is like being possessed by something powerful and hateful. Now, I take my anti-psychotic meds and am no longer paranoid and deluded. To the powers that be, I am grateful for this.
