...I'm not sure I can condone it, either, and yet I'm aware how this runs right slap against freedom of choice. People are free to snort cocaine and, for the mist part, they know there are risks.
Incidentally, how do you feel about other drugs such as nicotine, alcohol and caffiene? The first two kill more people in the UK every year than every prohibited drug combined! Surely that's a more serious problem, since these legal drugs are by far the bigger killers?
Thanks for reading.

I'm sure the paparrazzi (however that word is spelled) are a real
nightmare to be endured.
But that said, addiction to drugs is awful and perhaps this could be the wakeup call she needs to help get her life turned around. As hounded as I would imagine a celebrity could be, I still cannot condone a drug habit, even when done in private. Although it may not be harming anyone else, it certainly is detrimental to the person snorting the drug.
I've cared for young people having a massive heart attack (MI) after snorting cocaine. The damage is usually irreversible.

Have I ever told you, by the way, that I love your name?!
Cheers!

...the hypocrisy is rife, that's for sure.
The good news is, H&M (and maybe some others) have backed down after Kate apologised publically and decided to get into rehab (which, as one of my favourite t-shirts says, is for quitters!) So she still has a job.
Thanks for stopping by.

...you may be right about cocaine, but so what? That's the gamble. And besides, more people die on the roads each year than from cocaine OD's, but no one talks about outlawing cars!

...I often wonder if its just sheer jealousy. These people know they're scum-sucking shit-bags, but they'd really like to be super-models, or at least married to one.
Maybe.
Thanks for the comment!

...you're right to an extent. But Kate Moss was 'spotted' at JFK at age 14 and it seems like she was in the jaws of fame before she knew what was going on.
Thanks for the comment, m'dear.

It's a shame that the media in general has such
power over all of our lives and yet is not regulated because that would restrict our freedoms. How does this makes sense really? We have freedom to say whatever we want but you have to take a person to court and prove it was slander, but by then the damage has already been done...

I agree -
Kate Moss's has always been a bit of a party animal. It has been anything but secret all this time. All these years, these companies have been using her face to promote their products and thereby endorsed her drinking and smoking. I don't agree with drugging but I hate hyprocrisy even more.

I am not sure about this...
but I think that cocaine is different from those other drugs in that there is a greater chance that a person could take a lethal overdose fairly easily.
Tobacco, pot -- these take years to kill you. No one dies from one dose, even a large one.
But cocaine? I think there's a good chance of a person's heart stopping from even one overdose, which does make it a more dangerous drug.
I agree that the people who publicized this have a rotten sense of morals, but a celebrity chooses to step into the spotlight. If you don't want to be photographed doing something embarrassing when millions may see it, don't become a celebrity.

I guess one of the pitfalls of fame and fortune is the fact that your private life never really is private.

Damon,
It's sad cause it's really all about money and then about gossip. I didn't see that picture, but it really is sad how some can stoop so low just for a few bucks. They care not about how it can affect the persons' life. They may be celebs and yes, they take that chance of this sort of thing happening by putting themselves in the limelight, but they are still humans with careers.

I agree somewhat. A person's private life should be just that..private! But all these "stars" made a choice and did whatever it took for this attention. When I hear stars whining about no privacy I can't help but wonder how they, who obviously crave attention, would feel if they weren't in the spotlight.

You have made a valid point DL
The paparazzi are enemies to anyone famous, or not famous. They have the capability of making a nobody into a somebody, and vice versa. I will tell you though that I am against drugs when it comes to mixing them with the job. I would not wish to work next to somebody who is higher then a kite. What she does in her private life though is another story.
