Janesopinion and Justsouno...

You know what I've done to "live in the lap of luxury" here in the US? I spent 14 of 20 years living in backwater countries as I served in the US military protecting your rights to disparage anyone who raises a valid point. I spent 20 years studying North Korea (I speak fluent Korean, FYI.)

I've heard all the tales about the horrors of North Korea. I even have a video tape from North Korea of dead bodies floating down the Tumangang. (North Koreans killed by famine, deplorable living conditions, or shot by armed North Korean border guards.) I think I can claim to havinng firsthand knowledge of living conditions in North Korea as I've witnessed them with my own two eyes and ears. In much the same way, I witnessed the destruction of New Orleans with my own two eyes and ears.

You know nothing of my character. I never said that I would believe the word of a North Korean croney over that of anyone else. I merely pointed out how the North Koreans could take the word (and often do take the word) of disenchanted, disenfranchised, and disgusted Americans to highlight the violence of America's city streets, the deplorable state of our slums, and the arrogance of Americans like you.

My point was that anyone can scare up "hearsay" regarding the worst of another group of people. Rumor and hearsay are not evidence nor testamony...which is why its rarely allowed in a US court of law. You relied on rumor to slander the name of a government leader. And relying on rumor to sully anyone's reputation is wrong no matter how you spin it. So, thank you for revealing the true nature of your character.

Yes, Justso, I would agree --
there were many commie sympathizers who moved to the Soviet Union; I respect them for their honesty.  Now, however, people don't want to give up their luxurious lives.  They know they've got it too darned good!

Janes

Do you think there are those who have it so hard here they should seek asylum in those countries they defend while living in the lap of US luxury?

I have suggested that on many occasions here. Maybe some have gone, they are not spouting off as much. The three crimes are only an election or so away from us. This is good information, one seeking truth would know from the nuclear situation that there is not a very broad point to stand on in doubting this to be the epitome of evil..

Ahhh, DM, very interesting.

Now I know your true character. You would take the words of the North Koreans over the words of an American or North Korean refugee who has suffered through persecution in that country.  Why am I not surprised?!

My family and I traveled to Uzbekistan in 1998.  While there my mother had a very interesting conversation with the village doctor at the village clinic (which, by the way, had no running water and scant amount of power).  This doctor mentioned that, during Soviet times, the Soviets would compare their dismal clinic with the US.  The Soviets would tell the people "you should be thankful; what you have is so much better than what the US has.  They live in poverty and have so much less than you."

In like manner it would seem you have succombed to the brainwashing tactics of those North Koreans.  Way to go!

And yes, I do know what a primary source is vs a secondary source.  Since I do not have access to the people living in hiding in N. Korea and China I am going by what I've read, taken from reliable sources.

Congratulations!

You made this this very important list! So click here to see!

By the way, you didn't actually cite any sources for your information. All you did was recite where you encountered this hearsay. I can point to several North Korean government agencies who'd flatly deny all your accusations much the same way American government agencies would deny the state of prisons in the US or the way blacks apparently suffered in New Orleans because the Federal Government failed to act swiftly enough.

Cite the source of your information. Not the source of your hearsay.

Oops, caught a mistake --
in my last comment I said "rumored" but the word used in my post was "believed."  Sorry.

DM, I will gladly site my sources!

My information came from the Voice of the Martyrs.  And their information came directly from insiders working in N. Korea and China helping the many, many victims of persecution, torture, starvation, etc.

Keep in mind that a few of my comments were prefaced with "rumored to have" -- such as that which Kim Jong Il has going on in his residence.  Thanks to N. Korea's very secretive society, there are a lot of unknowns.

Gee...I Habitually Base My Conclusions on "Rumors."

Would you mind citing the source for all this "factual" information regarding North Korea? I mean, if it's so tough getting out of North Korea then how could this "information" find its way out?

I studied North Korea for more than twenty years and I recognize a few fallacies in your post, but I won't highlight them here because I want you to find out for yourself exactly where you've posted misinformation.

Do us all a favor, cite your source documents. Otherwise, your post becomes nothing but Internet hearsay and somewhat weak.

Flame-thrower --
I was going to pay you a visit and a comment, but you've blocked me!!  I don't remember harrassing you, and apologize if I've done so . . . .

Yes, Flame-thrower,

I think you're right.  My mom was just telling me about a book she's reading about N. Korea.  It is such a secretive country that we don't have adequate intel to know quite what to do with them.  They could be like the former Soviet Union -- so very feared by America, but really a house of cards quivering in the breeze (except of course for their arsenal of nukes!).  Or they could be a truly powerful nation packed with all sorts of weapons of mass destruction and all the requisite ingredients to successfully wage war on America and others.  I agree with Bush that there needs to be input and even oversight from other countries in the region.

Thanks for commenting!

While you have taken the pains to remind us once again about the excesses of the evil north korean regime,it will be appalling to find peolple who back them. It is necessary that the US government should talk tough against the regime of Kim jung IL. As you rightly stated, I don't think any north korean will ever go on vacation with his/her family as you doing now. Thanks for the remindal.

Thank you, Flightpath,

I agree that more people should pay attention to what's going on in some of these closed, secretive countries, instead of listening to the loud rabble of folk like Sheehan and Co.

Thanks for stopping by!

Thanks Justsouno for your comments.
You are very kind!  And yes, I agree about the special reserved suites in hell for the two kims.  But then again, I think hell is going to be awful no matter who is in it -- total and complete separation from everything that is good!

Jane this is such an awesome post. THIS IS A MUST READ!
Of course we know the persecution of Christians will be all over the world. This is all so unbelievable. There will be two special suites in Hell for the Kims. Something almost as scary are the numbers on our very soil who want communism government. Right on this network! Many things are beyond my comprehension that tops the list.
