I'm glad he did assume responsibility. That's what leaders do - take charge and get the mess straightened out. There was entirely too much buck-passing further down the many levels of government, and Governor Blank-O ended up following his example. Mayor Nagin is another matter, though.

As far as the Adams/Adams comparison goes, I think "W" is more of a revolutionary than his pa, who was far less visionary.

I was angry during the speech, and still am, at the utter incompetence and idiocy at the state and local levels that put so many people in danger.

Good post...

I missed his speech...I just didn't have the stomach to handle it.  You know I still think that Sr. is still babying Jr., maybe he wanted a pony as a child and was shunned, who knows.  I just hate that the rest of us have to tolerate his choice to buy his son the WH.

Just saw the post about NO, and lights on for Bush's speech, then off again; and martial law type lock down.  I'm not ready to start letting the guard down yet.  Thanks for the post.
