Joe what a great idea! The computer terminal thing. I bet someone would make a fortune putting the internet onto treadmills. I went three times last week and plan to go tomorrow for the first time this week. It doesn't take much to get me addicted - I love the gym. Yes, I do have to lose weight, about 7kgs which is about 15lbs.

Cassie
Congrats for finally getting your butt in the gym!! The first few days will undoubtedly leave you feeling sore. But, you know. . , once you get back the tiniest result (say 5 pounds--I don't know if you even NEED to lose weight), you'll probably become addicted to working out. Hmmmmm. I wonder if they have a computer terminal at the biking machines where you can blog while you workout. *grin*

wordsmith, I agree about stretching. I hope to see results quickly too - I used to respond well to exercise, we will see what a couple more years does to me..

Good for you, Cass....
Little by little is the way to go. I lift light weights and credit that for really making a difference. I'm still jumping rope. I started about a month ago. I don't know where my lungs are. If you see them, send them back to me, haha. I still can't jump for a long while, but every little bit helps. So don't quit, and I won't either. Best of luck. What a nice son to help you stretch your tired muscles!

Cass,
Stretching helps tremendously. The dr I was saw for my back told me never neglect stretching, both before and after exercise. I'm on a programme myself now after gaining some pounds because I couldn't exercise because of my bad back. I hope you start seeing results quickly.

Isn't it fun to rediscover musles you forgot you had, when they suddenly are in pain from over-use? Well...no, not really...but it does a body good in the end!

Lol Temple. I've got a fitball and weights at home, but I need the treadmill and other machines. I've hardly had to wait at all for machines, its not as busy as I thought it would be. Haven't seen any cute guys yet...

I like the gym, but I hate waiting.
I have everything I need at home...tapes, free weights, I used to have a treadmill in my old building....my chiropractor is getting me an exercise ball. I want to get up, work out, be done. Other words too much room to procrastinate, and I hate waiting for machines. When I get stronger I'll go back to boxing or kick boxing in an old gym, that's fun (but hard). I don't like to do classes at gyms since I'm all dizzy and fall down. This way I can do it at home and be a dork in front of the cats. :)
