I had a wonderful dream about my dad...
...where the nursing home had been wrong about his passing away and that he had come to.
In my dream, it was now the current time (over a year after his passing), and he was healthier than he'd been in a long time.
Then, I woke up.
I believe that this dream--as are all dreams I've had about him--God's assurance to me that he is, indeed, still alive and well!
There's a comfort in those dreams--yet, there's a sadness, too, when it comes to waking up.
How I would love to wake up to a different version of February 2, 2004--finding out that not only Daddy's passing but these tragedies that have taken place since then had been nothing but a bad dream.
Yet, the dream isn't completely a bad one.
If I woke up, then you would also be a dream, as would the baby girl of friends. So would my goddaughter's coming up in the world with her dreams coming true. So would a lot of wonderful things.
For a week, it would have been nice to wake up and find that this had all been a dream, but, after that, life has moved on and continued having its blessings that I don't want to turn down!
Anyway, I guess we all have been a little blue today for a number of different reasons...

I'm having a rough day too...
I've been thinking about 9-11 and working with victiims of Katrina all day so I'm emotionally spent. Things get better with time though.
