The solution is to have harsh punishement for any criminal use of guns and for any criminal found with a gun. I do not hunt, so the guns I own are designed for self-defense against such undesireable elements of our society that may attempt to do me or those around me harm. Such guns serve a useful purpose to law-abiding citizens whose rights should never be curtailed with respect to gun ownership or carry.

well
i'm of two opinions on the subject
if a government becomes too you know what.
but that's a dangerous subject
and yet guns being so free and in the hands of the criminal element -- gangs etc. -- these kids can have better guns than the police -- the 2nd amendment is all right and we should have th right to bear arms
but there are gun companies and dealers that seem to make huge profits on huge weapons whose purpose mainly is aimed at people -- certainly not at animals.
I like hunting. getting out in the woods and hunting rabbits (season is 2 weeks away in MO) or squirrels -- hope maybe to go deer hunting this year -- hope nothing else is happening.
but the weapons sold -- to me have nothing to do with regular hunting
and then again we wonder -- a restriction in one area could lead to further restrictions.
and yet -- guns -- right its people that kill people -- but . . . is there a way to be for a measure of gun control without violating the 2nd amendment?
shoot -- I'll have to think on that.

The link disappeared! It was of an attorney who was defending his home, not damaged, not flooded, by wearing a gun. We have too much gun control as it is. The only restrictions should be that violent felons should be restricted from owning or carrying guns.

law enforcement -- I guess it's everywhere -- because they have uniforms and some degree of immunity -- we have abuses right here in St. Louis -- and of course that "blue wall of silence", etc. --

i know
what's with the law enforcement

i found a lot of videos at your link -- just don't know which one you are referring to.

I will hear you out, although I have a problem with what I'd call "not enough gun control" -- I don't know if we'd get into an argument or not if I stated my case and our friendship would be strained -- but since it's you talking, I'm listening.

You are so right about abuse of power.

BTW, I have fond memories of my travels in Spain while in the Navy, most recently in 1986 -- quite some time ago. The people were great; the food was fantastic, and the Sangria, superb!

The abuse of power by the police is becoming appallingly common throughtout the so-called democracies, and is likely to get worse.

Paradoxically, here in Spain - in the home of the Spanish Inquisition and Fascist oppresion - the police are amazingly tolerant. Hardly any motorist wear a seat belt - altho' one does have to watch our on the mortorways - and few motorcyclists bother to wear a helmet.

And where else, I ask you can one park with impunity on the yellow lines outside the police station? A thing that I, and many others do regularly ; and the notorious Guardia Civil turn a blind eye.

One can often see a cop driving along the main road in our local town ; without a seatbelt, cigarette and mobile phone in hand, making a call.

Yes, siree! Spain's the place for a motorist to be!
