Nice piece
Since 1969 September has been a month that has had mixed feelings for me as well. I've never been able to decide whether to morn or celebrate the arrival of this month. In recent years and now with the even more recent disasters, I've decided that it will probably be more a month to morn. Perhaps it would be best if we just left it off of our calenders.

ha! hee hee!
tell your son that he got trumped on cool music by a 37 year old :)  most excellent....yeah, that's an excellent album, too....also has a song on it called St. Jimmy and it came out right when me and Jimmy were getting together ....(although that St. Jimmy was a really bad man, and our Jimmy just likes to call himself a bad, bad man....boys will be boys)

(I can't talk about Sept. 11th)

I wrote the post to celebrate Billy's return from Iraq in October last year.

wordsmith, yes, Desiderata covers it well. I'd forgotten about that, but it was a big thing around the time I was September. Memories...

Cass, September brings to mind the bit in the
Desiderata that talks about gracefully surrendering the things of youth. Sounds like you had some good times with 'September'.  Sometimes, it seems like the whole world is in pain. One disaster after another - some man made, some natural phenomena.

Ca88

So true, and tomorrow is 9/11. It sure has been a long month already! But in my little town we will soon be celebrating "Constitution Day's", it is an example of America at her best.  Eagle

September has made us all tired! Good post!
