It is tough. Depends on whether you want to keep it all plants, all garden creatures or a cross over. I would choose a less complicated way - stick to 1 general category. Introduce the complicated only when really needed.

Nice 'toon from the plant in the previous post. A plant makes a better subject than a commonly used animal.
