Nice pic!
The sun setting in the background is really what makes it for me!

brisbane,

It's nice to see your art blogs.  They are a refreshing change from ''SERIOUS'' ones.

I have a Nikon Coolpix myself.  A 5700, which was discontinued within a month of my buying it.  Oh well.  That's digital cameras for you.  They are ''state of the art'' for about three days.  If yours is similar to mine, perhaps we can get into some of the technical aspects.  It seems that the thing is so loaded with adjustments that it's hard to know when to do what.  Then by the time you're set up, the battery is dead.  I think I just need more practice.

You certainly are right about the advantages of digital.  I think, though, that I need to adapt a motorcycle battery to cord into mine.  The little pipsqueaks that the manufacturer offers last about five minutes.  I was working with closeups yesterday and the battery died about the time I was getting successful.   jj

Digital

Thisn is my old DC290 Kodak

I have a new Nikon Cool Pics now.

So yep Digital is the way to go for me because I snap a 1000 before I get the one that I want.

I play a lot in Photoshop so most end up as backgrounds in paintings and drawings.

briz,
That is a nice picture.  Is it digital?  The detail in it looks better than most of the digital stuff I have seen, but maybe I just need to practice a little more with digital cameras.  Well, I know I need to, but I just can't seem to get the kind of pictures that I used to with Kodachrome.  I have scanned slides with better final results than what I seem to get with digitals.  Maybe practice is all I need.  Digital does allow a lot of practice at a decent cost.   jj
