I could add stuff to each of these, but I only know about two for sure. The bits I know about are all about fiddling the figures.
1. Unemployment is down because I believe they're now counting part-time workers in as part of the whole calculation. This wasn't the case until recently, so of course, it makes things look better than they really are.
2. Manufacturing is up because, for the first time, they're including kitchen staff productivity in the calculation, based on the premise that kitchen staff "manufacture" sandwiches and meals. Again, pop this output into the calculations, keep schtum about it, and people who swallow Faux News without ever thinking twice about any of it get completely fooled and bedazzled!
