May, thank you. I hope the good karma comes in this lifetime! I couldn't make her feel bad - being a mother means you have to put up with so much crap anyway. You know...

Quirky, they wouldn't have fired me if I'd refused. I just couldn't see any other options.

ginnie - I guess I never thought of telling the woman to come and find it. She was at home, probably a fair way away and very distraught. At least I haven't had to go through any more bins!

Meringue, the rest of the week, although not wonderful, was not nearly as bad thank goodness.

Good heavens Cass!
That's a service you provide?  Pretty darn nice of you guys, I'd say!  I remember when my niece lost her retainer at a restaurant and my mother and sister had to go through the garbage out back of the restaurant...they found it but no one helped them!  What a day for you!  Hope tomorrow is better?!!

Cassie
I enjoyed this entry very much. A very vivid image came to mind as you described digging through the bins. I sure don't envy you having to hunt for the dental plate.

wordsmith - it wasn't one of the tasks in my job description, but what else could I do?

Goodness, you're great Cass....

Now that's something right there I wouldn't have coped with too well. All in a day's work, eh?

Nickie - I know! It wasn't a pleasant thing at all.

Ca88andra,
yikes! I would not like to be in your place! I don't mind sorting through my own garbage, but that of others....

Silver I was not a happy camper either, but someone had to do it!

Yuck-o.  I would not have been a happy camper!  I was going to say you did something really nice for the woman and her daughter, but it doesn't seem you had much choice in the matter.  Blecch.
