Hi, very sorry to hear about these losses in your family.

Thank you but we have a problem...
I have a Macintosh and your instructions left out a few things evidently. Can I do it with HTML without writing the entire posting in HTML? I'm still learning and it just takes too long to write an entire posting in HTML. I'm glad you were kind enough to put the link in, though.

Thanks again and check out the update on my story.

No problem! I've just now...

...linked you over there--but please don't change your mind about coming over and sharing your thoughts.

For the future, here's how you make a link here (using this toolbar, that is):

Let's say that you would like to link to some information about a writing contest.

You would first give your link an appropriate title.

Let's go with:

September Write-Off

You can do it like this or you can do it in boldface by clicking on the B in the toolbar and, after you're finished, clicking on it again.

I'm going to do it with the boldface...

September Write-Off

Okay!  We've gotten this far.

What you need to do now is to go to where you want to get your link from and use your mouse to copy the url to it.

Then, come back here and run your mouse over your title to shade it in.

Once you've done that, you click on the linking icon.

This is the one in the bottom row that comes after the minus sign.

It will open to a skinny window where you will then paste what you've copied with your mouse.

You do this by pointing your mouse at the window and clicking on the secondary button on your mouce so that a screen will come up with choices on it.

Choose paste and click on it with the primary button on your mouse.

Oh yes, to copy, you do the same thing, only look for the copy option to click on.

Then, hit the insert button, and you'll end up with something that looks like this:

September Write-Off

by taking another step, you could make it form a new window, as done in the following example...

September Write-Off

but I think I'll just leave it in the most simple form for awhile until you get the hang of it.  Then, I (or someone else of your choosing) can teach you how to make the link open into a new window.

Hope this is helpful!

Hugs!
AJ

While I can't imagine what you are going through, I do

offer condolences.  That's a hard pill to swallow.

Dear AJ
I don't know how to add a link. I'll leave this message on your blog later today. whimsystoryteller

The awful truth.
I am awake and crying. I cannot sleep. We are still looking to hear from our friends and family in New Orleans. I was just there for July 4th weekend and the places I went to are no longer there.

Please...

...add a link to your blog in the comment section of my Katrina blog-entry!

I know how you feel.

When buildings and other inanimate objects hold your memories, they become alive and are like old friends that are hard to lose!

Hugs!

Thank you...
Thank you all for your wonderful support and comments. And, for the person who's relative just lost his home, I'm sorry for his loss as well.

I'll write more about all of what's going on tomorrow after I've had a chance to get past the emotion of it all.

You can always go back in your memories and in your heart
No one or nothing can take that from you!!  My uncle lost his home a couple of weeks ago to flood.  No it wasnt national news.  He lived on the lake in a small West Texas town of about 3500.  He has lived there his whole life and is now in his early 70's.  Two weeks ago they got 15 inches of rain and many of the residents of this small West Texas town that has experienced drought for many years now are homeless. There was no FEMA, the RED CROSS never showed up nor did the National Guard etc.  These people are still trying to peice their lives together too.  IT may not be the devistation as we see in New Orleans, and Mississippi but the emotions and results are still the same
