Thanks. We know that many IT literates can hack away settings and copy even with click-mouse function disabled. Some can even do more. We might try the low resolution idea. With a few hundred images, it is a very time consuming project. Need to rethink on this work.

Watermark

It would be easy enough in Photoshop. Are you into Photoshop?

The real answer is to only have a very low res image.

You can also insert that stops people left clicking.

eBat fees are not that great actually.

I will read the rules here again before I post toomuch.

Thanks.

This art area in discussion is our freelance project. Many artists have sent us scanned images of their paintings. Problems are they can't market themselves. We can't release images on internet without water mark as people might save/imitate their originals. Is there a software for inserting watermark?

ebay is not totally free as there are listing charges each week. Certainly risky for advertizers. It involves work and upfront capital for a bunch of near strangers. We do free ads postings but those almost don't work. We would prefer shipping to be from point of storage so the artist handles that. Yes, you're right about the insurance etc. We might also consider reprints on demand so there would less work for all to handle as the printer company handles it.

Well

What do you do?

Actually.

Here is one idea - but - it depends how you see yourselves as artists.

I teach lil' kids.

I write about how to teach lil' kids.

Their parents love their work and so I can have wooden jigsaws made of their work.

So what I am doing is building a gallery of this type of art and then offering parents that if they would like wooden jigsaws made of their kids' work

They can email me and I will have it delivered  - this is included in the cost.

You guys seem quite proficient with Photoshop so this should be something that would work.  Parents I think are really paying for the service of converting the art work.

Did you know you can offer services on eBay.

The idea is that Jigsaws are very light and so the item ships well.

So I am making a range of Wooden Jigsaws from my own work and I will offer a limited edition.

On the other hand .........

Selling something really expensive on eBay requires insurance.

Paintings have to be packed very well.

This is fine but you have to think the issues through before you begin,

I have oodles of ideas but not as much time as I would like to write them up.

What........first I need to be clear about what we are allowed to write here?

I was about to say I would give you links - but - I am not sure about that.

As you can see I like to break topics right, right down.

So it would be good if you asked specific questions?

Some of the things I do are more for community.

And then of course some things are really serious.

eBay is a fascination for me,

This is great. If you can post a series about how to get an art business selling on ebay, many might be interested.

I've been reading about people selling art on ebay. That is more direct than entering contests which consumes time. Of course, it also takes time to get the knack of ebay but that would be like making a rice bowl for life.
