Boy, I Know What That's Like
I didn't realize how much I appreciate my computer until I started to experience problems last week that prevented me from accessing the internet. My system started up fine, but as soon as I clicked on a web address, I quickly found myself in the blue abyss. Turns out that Mcafee was a little more intrusive than I thought. Thank goodness for my son's help, though. When I called him and told him that my computer seemed incredibly ill, he was able to pinpoint my problem in about 5 minutes. After completing a series of checks, he determined my problem was the firewall. I'm now using ZoneAlarm, and my computer works great. It's nice to be at my own keyboard instead of using the one at the library.

MilWife, I think the Dell is down for the count, at least as far as getting online with it. This machine is an old Hewlett-Packard I bought at a yard sale for twenty bucks! And look at me....I am online using AOL 3.0, Windows 98, and a dial-up connection!!

Hi!! I just went through the same exact thing!!
My computer complety crashed out on me like a month ago, and my friend's husband reconfigured it for me. I had to use my friend's laptop during the crash. Thank God for my buddy Pete! I would have gone nuts! I love my net..LOL...Alexa

Dang it! Hate equipment problems.
My old dinosaur is getting ready to belly up any day now. So if I disappear, it's because I'm shopping for a new one.
What a pain. Hope you get it all worked out. Take care!
