Yes Joe

I think the very idea of having to focus on something intensely can be quite isolating.

Lonely even in a crwd so's to speak.

I was thinking about that last night - you see pictures of people trading on Wall Street and it looks about as aleinating as you can get.

So in that sense any situation can be alienating.

I guess that people who work in large offices even BLOG to over come isolation at times,

( I am finding out all sorts of things as I trial the new tool bar and compare it when I post without it!)

I think working in ANY small office
can be isolating.

Yes Irene

Tissie I guess adult conversation and company are what it is all about.Or is it?

I consider being a stay at home mum working?

I am not a mum but I teach primary kids and I think mothering is the most important job in our society.

I am a radical feminist though,

I have never worked from home but

I did "work" as a stay home Mom for 6 years. Every week or so my husband would keep my babies so I could go out for an afternoon with my best friend. She and I  would go to lunch and shopping or sometimes catch a movie. I always looked forward to the adult conversation and company.
