on this blog, I guess
its a kind of shock, the sense of the absurd makes the unreal more real. We treasure life and the beauty of every living moment and we want the story to go on.

That is a theme I explored (in the real world), Krisles.
the notion of how do you explain the comical death of a loved one to others. Conversely, how do the police or medical personnel break the news
to the family. And, does the humorous circumstance (in some small way) actually "soften the blow".
Perhaps, I'll post my essay at some point.

That bungee cord thing....that has got to be really embarrassing for the families..I mean, telling other people how the loved one died...with a straight face...

At any rate, you know what really bugs me? If all these horny toads who send me lusty emails (and, you guys know who you are) would actually VISIT this blog every now and then ... I'd be a hell of a lot higher than 14th!

Drinking poison is nearly always fatal. It dissipates and corrodes too fast, unlike foreign objects, which may be extracted.

I agree totally, Numinous...
I know Bill Maher (who I love) has a whole routine built around that premise.
Also, I should note for people who have never read this blog before ... most of the previous posts are very similar to this one. With a few rare departures (which should best be ignored).

Thank you very much, Hemlocker.
I hope people are as fascinated by this, as I am. All knowledge is power (morbid or otherwise).
As far as the alphabet quotes (which I've moved on from, btw ... though, they may come back around), those lines are from Edward Gorey's brilliant "children's" book, "The Gashlycrumb Tinies". My alltime second favorite book of cartoons (behind Charles Addams' collected works).
Oh, and, anyone who (at any point) can guess where my current sig quotes come from ... gets a cookie. Plus, some milk to wash it down with.

not unlike Persephone (Greek Goddess of the Underworld).
Well, except, she doesn't go stay with her aunt.
And, she returns to Hades, not New York.

I'd ask who would be so stupid,
but you said there were 9 numbskulls who cracked their skull bungee jumping. I think I'd be slightly deranged to even try that - with my luck, the adrenaline rush alone would kill me.

I'll try, Layla. Though, as my best friend just emailed:
I feel September creepin' in and I'm
tired of this town again.
Naturally, my response was:
Oh, my my. Oh, hell yes.
Honey put on that party dress.
Anyways, the point of all that
is ... we're outta here in a couple weeks.
