Meringue..I agree...going with your gut instinct is usually best.

MWife....you've got him pegged...but we did have a nice time on
Our date.

Why?  Seriously this man seems like about as much fun as watching paint dry...he doesn't fit you...why waste either of your time?

Go with what your gut says....
it is usually right! All of us have these moments...but it is always better to ignore your heart, and your mind, and just go by instinct!

Divine....I'm LMAO at your insane comment.

In all my born days, I've never heard anyone call a penis a "pole"...what country are you bloggin from? Australia? New Zealand? Antarctica?

Thanks for this zany comment.

Like no. If he looks so good and is 45 did you ask yourself or him WHY he was available? Clearly women are staying away for some reason. Not that he had to give it up on the first date but did you have a chance to see the state of his moving 'part'? I have rarely met a man with a good pole that didn't have at least someone in his life.

Gypsy...You do have a real crystal ball, right?
Those were my gut instincts too....strange, yes???

Passion...
No second chance for this one. Not because he won't put out on the first date, but because you're leary of him. Sometimes your first instinct is dead on. And the smacking while kissing states the reason he doesn't sleep with you on the first date is because he sucks in bed. Just my thought.

I think you've answered your own question.  Except for the "looks like George Clooney" part, everything was a definite negative.  Sometimes it's better to do without than to have something that will make you nuts.

Reading both posts, I gotta give this one a big EEEEEWWWW.  Of course, my track record stinks big time, so take this with a grain of salt ... or anything else that makes someone pucker up and SMACK!

LMAO, Offbeat....
So you think he's dangerous? I think he wants a REAL relationship, so I'm afraid I have to agree.

Pooch...I'd be very surprised if you were correct.
He's a very quiet, well-mannered guy who doesn't really have the FIRE in his soul that I do. I expect his love making style would be about the same...dull, boring, not much happening there.

He's playing you like a cello. You are wondering what's wrong with you, so you project things wrong with him. Actually, there's nothing wrong with you. Take the second date and take your vitamins beforehand. You'll most likely need them.

Quriky...actually this is the guy who whispered in my ear:
"Oh Carol, I'm so glad I found you." This sort of talk normally causes me to run like hell.

May I weigh in?? I wouldn't ever disregard his possible potential based on that he wants to get to know someone before sharing his willy with them...but the smacking...well...it's annoying now, but if you decide you like him then it might become endearing...or not...I would say, what does one more date hurt? It't not like he wants to put a ring on your finger!

posted by Julia. on August 17, 2005 at 8:59 AM | link to this | reply

Passion,
I would say that that sounds like a good idea...then go from there :)

Thanks Anna....that's what I'm thinkin too...give him one more chance.

posted by Passionflower on August 17, 2005 at 8:53 AM | link to this | reply

Passion,
Then spend a little more time with him, you'll end up feeling one way or the other...then you can decide when you get to that point :)

And you're absolutely right. We might as well go for it once more. I'll be sure to let you know how it goes.

MayB---Me and your ma ain't got nothing in common...

I never ask that question. If I want something and I can afford it, I get it, love and cherish it, enjoy it tremendously and have the best possible experience with it.

Life is all about partaking of every possible interesting, fun, delicious adventure. You only go around once. Don't miss anything if you can help it.

I've always been told that everyone deserves a second chance.    Let him wine and dine ya and if ya don't like him, tell him to take a hike!  I mean, you gotta eat and then, you can smack your lips,  lol

If you ain't a man when I start, you will be when I'm done.  (Okay, guess I could go a little easy on you, but I do think you should load up on your vitamins. I have alot of sexual energy.)

Dear Irish...Guess I don't really know yet if he has more annoying
Qualities or if it was just a case of being nervous on a first date.  I'm still undecided.

Good Advice Strat...I appreciate a man's perspective.
Sorry, but Passionflower doesn't do "Gentle"...

Passioflower..
It seems from you last comment on this post that you have already found something to annoy you.. What about the other stuff  you mentioned? Sometimes men just aren't good housekeepers.. If he has qualities that you like then go for the second date.. If not then don't waste the time..

posted by BrightIrish on August 16, 2005 at 8:08 PM | link to this | reply

You know what he said about sleeping with a woman on the first date.
What did he say about the second?

As I recall, he sounded like a real feeb -- unless you're bored spitless, it sounds like you'll be wasting time.

On the other hand, I know what it's like to be nervous with a hot girl, so maybe he just needs you to be gentle...

posted by strat on August 16, 2005 at 7:47 PM | link to this | reply

passion... why not? unless he repulses you or you just don't have the time
then why not go for a second impression?
