Aria, I'd like some relief myself.
Every time I think of all the stories I have to edit, I get a niggling sense of discomfort that does not go away.

Finish product
The best thing to do is to keep to a schedule with your writing to stay on task. I have some writing projects that I started and I didnot finish. I have to get myself back on track and complete them. At least I will feel a sense of relief.

John, it's amazing what a little encouragement can do.
Writing down the formula for what I should be doing helps me pull my finger out as well.

I can relate completely, word. Sometimes I wince when I read the old pieces but now and then I read one which staggers me with its brilliance (just kidding). When I read this blog I thought 'Hmm this is the young lady who is telling me to get my finger out?'

Dreyma,
Great minds think alike! Maybe if you set small deadlines. Maybe a certain amount of words per day etc, that might help get you going. I'm glad this post helped to get you started.

Its like you pulled this blog straight out of my own head. It really is hard to keep the "fizzle" going. I am constantly looking for motivation to push myself through a project. Deadlines are coming up for some story contests, and I need to get my butt in gear!!
Reading this has given me a bit more of an urge to get organized and finish some things off. Thank you.

Dances,
That a lot of stuff you have there for that book. The time will come when it will take on an urgency and must get done. Some stories attack me like that. They demand to be written down. You should start putting those notes all in one place a little at a time. I suspect that there will never be a convenient time to get it all done.

GREAT Post!
I can definitely relate. And I have a nonfiction book in the back of my head and TONS of rough notes and scraps and printouts and emails laying around for it... just no time or energy to devote. I can relate on many levels - hang in there - your post held me to the last :)
